授業の目的、または到達目標

To gain general knowledge about criminal court procedures， functions of court interpreters， and legal terms and to learn basic interpretation skills through training in class.

授業の概要

We meet twice a week. Sessions are divided into two: court interpreting theory and interpretation practice. Students learn criminal trial procedures， professional ethics， technical terms and other aspects of justice system by using the textbook and reference materials. Students learn basic interpretation skills through monolingual and bilingual interpretation training. We will visit the Osaka District Court to observe how ‘real’ trials are conducted.
