Course Description
We meet twice a week. Sessions are divided into two: court interpreting theory and interpretation practice. Students learn criminal trial procedures, professional ethics, technical terms and other aspects of justice system by using the textbook and reference materials. Students learn basic interpretation skills through monolingual and bilingual interpretation training. We will visit the Osaka District Court to observe how ‘real’ trials are conducted.
