Course Description
While finding out the gap between the required level and their own level, various styles of training methods will be used to fill the gap; shadowing, retention, logical analysis, paraphrasing, speed reading and sight translation. For a certain subject matter for interpreting job (for example, a marketing meeting of a manufacturer), students will learn how to research, prepare and practice for the job. Concurrently, students will try to improve their language proficiencies in Japanese and English. The course will include a field trip to a conference where professional interpreters are working.
