Studies in English-Japanese Expressions(日・英表現研究)円城 由美子 |
Course Description
Two continuous sessions, meet twice a week. The first period is a lecture session, and the second period is a practice session. In the lecture, we will start by thinking about what “words” mean and pick up some examples of how words and expressions in one language are rather difficult to be translated into another language. We will explore the reasons behind this as well. For translation practice, authentic materials, including famous speeches and current news articles will be used.
