授業の目的、または到達目標

To understand educational activities that help young people make the link between global issues and local concerns and apply what they learnt to their own lives.

授業の概要

Education for Development is defined as teaching and learning activities that promotes the development of young people’s attitudes, behaviours and values, on social values such as global solidarity, peace, tolerance, social justice and environmental awareness. It provides for young people the knowledge and skills that will empower them to promote these values and bring about positive changes in their own lives. Education for Development has evolved from being concerned with education about less-developed countries to a broader concept of education for global citizenship. In this course, students will experience classroom activities related to Education for Development from a learner’s perspectives. Having gaining such experience, students will proceed to critically review these activities from an instructor’s perspective.
