授業の目的、または到達目標

To learn how to present, support, elicit and respond to personal opinions and to participate in well-organized group discussions

授業の概要

The course is designed to help students organize and present information orally. All discussion practice is linked to the IU topics. Students watch video lectures, learn specific vocabulary and conversation strategies, and participate in communicative activities to improve their ability to respond to and build upon their own ideas and those of other speakers. Students are encouraged to make regular reports about news items, summarize news reports and stories, and express their opinions about current events. Students research and cooperate with each other to make various kinds of presentations in unit projects.
