To write clear, logically organized, and well developed English paragraphs and essays.

授業の概要

This course is one component of the first-year Core Studies curriculum. In it, students will learn how to organize, develop and explain ideas in a style appropriate to English academic writing. They will learn and practice basic steps of the composition process and apply those steps to the writing of paragraphs and essays. Essay topics include peace studies, science and religion, human rights, and crises of life. The writing skills studied are essential for the writing of papers in the second year Supervised Reading & Research I and II classes.
