授業の目的、または到達目標

Building on material studied in Phonetics， this class will further develop students’ abilities to express themselves effectively.

授業の概要

Students will review basic fundamentals of phonetics， including rhythm. They will then study， practice and present samples from various TV commercials， news broadcasts， speeches， stories， movies and dramas. Each students will make two presentations (one group and one individual). Emphasis will be placed on correct pronunciation following the phonetic rules studied and appropriate interpretation and/or expression for the materials.

授業の形態

• 共通教材を用いた演習の後、各学生が選んだ詩、劇、映画などで演習を行う。

準備学習

• 一年次で履修したPhoneticsの基礎理論を土台として、様々な教材を独力で英語音声表現できるようにする。そのためには、Phoneticsの理論を毎回復習、準備してくること。またモデル音声を録音したテープを使い、演習室でドリル練習を続けること。

教科書

• 一年次に使用した「Phonetics in Context」、および授業中に配布されるWorksheet
