Course Description

Students will continue to work on the skills needed for logically presenting and defending an opinion. Course work will begin with a review of the debate as a discussion technique. Students will discuss and debate topics of current interest. Following this， students will practice the skills of formal debate， including the necessity of examining both sides of an issue in order to adequately address the issues raised by those defending other positions. Students will participate in two formal debates， including cross-examination， during this part of the course.
